What we plan for on a Tampa move
Different parts of town cause different problems. These are the ones that come up on our jobs most often, and how we deal with them.
Downtown and Channelside towers
Most buildings want a certificate of insurance on file and a freight elevator booked ahead. Send us the management office’s contact and we’ll take care of both, then plan the load around your time slot.
South Tampa and Hyde Park
Older bungalows mean narrow driveways, tight front doors and original hardwood. We size the truck for the street and put runners down before anything comes off the walls.
Afternoon storms
From June into September it rains most afternoons. We start early, keep plastic over anything upholstered between the door and the truck, and stop loading when there’s lightning.
Bridges and rush hour
A Westchase-to-Brandon move or a trip over the Howard Frankland can take twice as long at 5 p.m. We set start times so the drive misses the worst of I-275 and the Selmon.
USF and New Tampa leases
Leases around the university and along Bruce B. Downs tend to end in late July and early August, so those weekends book up first. If you’re on that schedule, call a few weeks out.
Hurricane season

Downtown towers with a booked freight elevator, long carries, and extra flights of stairs land toward the top of a range. Ground-floor moves with short driveways land toward the bottom.

Get your price
We confirm a guaranteed price before move day, in writing. If the job stays the same, so does the number on your invoice. There are no add-on fees.
Move day
The crew calls about 30 minutes out, walks through the house with you, and pads and wraps everything before it goes on the truck.
Who shows up on move day
Every crew is led by a master mover with at least five years in the trade. The rest of the team are movers we hired and trained ourselves. We don’t hand jobs off to subcontractors or pick up day labor.
- Floors and door frames covered first. Runners go down and jambs get padded before the first piece is carried out.
- Wrapped inside, not in the driveway. Blankets and stretch wrap go on in the room, so nothing sits in the sun or rain unprotected.
- Taken apart and put back together. Bed frames, dining tables and desks come apart at the old place and get rebuilt at the new one.
- Appliances too. Once your washer, dryer or chest freezer is disconnected, we’ll move it.

How do you price a move in Tampa?
We look at the size of the home, the distance between addresses, stairs or elevators at each end, and any heavy pieces. Then we give you a guaranteed price in writing. If the job doesn’t change, the price doesn’t either.
My building needs a certificate of insurance. Can you send one?
Yes. Forward us the building’s requirements or the property manager’s email and we’ll send the certificate before move day. We carry $1,000,000 in general liability coverage and a $50,000 bond.
Can you move a piano or a gun safe?
Yes, including baby grands and safes over 1,000 pounds. Send the make or a photo and tell us where it’s going (garage, upstairs bedroom, closet) so we bring the right equipment and enough people.
How far ahead should I book?
Two to three weeks is usually plenty. The end of the month and the late-July lease rush fill up faster. If you need a crew this week, call anyway. We take short-notice jobs whenever a crew is open.
What happens if it rains on move day?
We keep working. Runners and plastic go down at both doors and anything upholstered stays covered between the house and the truck. If lightning moves in, we pause loading until it passes.
Do you move outside of Tampa?
Yes, anywhere in Florida, including Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville and Sarasota. We aren’t taking out-of-state moves right now.
